MYSTERY ITEM
Every now and then I come across something that I have no idea what it is. I thought this was a funnel but looked odd with the handle. Then I thought maybe a holder for a cozy cup, but most cups are not shaped like this.
Actually, it is a kitchen tool that was common in most kitchens mid century and earlier. Indeed, you will find them in some kitchens today, especially in rural or farming areas.
Curious? Check it out in my etsy shop. But first, put in the comment section what you think it is!

Yes, canning tool to fill the jars.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for commenting! I learned something new!
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother used one of these all of the time when she canned vegetables from her garden. It is a handle funnel made just for pouring into glass canning jars. I use one to help fill jars, although I do not can anything.
